The MSc in International Tourism Management, offered in partnership with the University of Brighton (UK), offers an innovative and visionary approach in the study of tourism as both economic and social phenomena. Our view is that tourism has become an integral part of history, culture and economies for many regions of the world. This has had a powerful influence on identity, representation and business environments in developed as well as less developing nations.
On a global scale the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) forecasts an increase in the number of international arrivals in the region of 1.6 billion by the year 2020. As such the industry needs people who understand the significance, complexity and dynamics of a diverse evolving, developing and growing sector.

Full-time students attend workshops on three days per week from October to May. The modules are delivered intensively over consecutive days in the so-called 'block format', which means that each module has 6 days of teaching split into two blocks of 3 days. Teaching methods include group work, case studies, presentations, and live projects. The course is delivered through a variety of approaches including lectures, presentations, tutorials and case studies, with an emphasis on interactive learning. Each module is taught by two lecturers, one from the University of Brighton and one from Wittenborg University. The full course is taught in Apeldoorn.

The MSc International Tourism Management programme, at Wittenborg University is aimed at a broad spectrum of students and practitioners from a variety of backgrounds.
Graduates are often fast-tracked into senior management, planning and development or consultancy positions with tourism-related organisations, both in the UK and overseas.
It has been designed for those who wish to pursue senior management positions within the tourism industry or as preparation for further study in international tourism, such as a PhD.
Degree and/or experience:
- Bachelor degree
- Students with non-relevant qualifications may be asked to complete a short portfolio prior to starting the course.
- Other applicants with extensive industry experience will be considered on an individual basis.
